Black Dragon Kempo Karate is a practical street defence system for men, women and children from the age of 7 years up to 70 years.
The ultimate aim of Black Dragon Kempo is to teach students to work freely within the boundaries of their limitations. As their mental and physical boundaries increase, their boundaries of limitations also increase.
Black Dragon Kempo is a fighting art that utilises the natural weapons of the body such as hands, fingers, elbows, knees, feet in a blinding barrage of offensive or defensive movements.
Kempo (sometimes known as Kenpo) uses the most street effective techniques from Karate, Chinese Boxing (Kung Fu), American Kenpo and various open handed or "poison hand" strikes.
As Black Dragon Kempo teaches limited sporting and tournament concepts (a paradox as our competitors invariably place 1st, 2nd or 3rd in bare knuckle full contact, freestyle sparring and kata/forms), students are taught primarily defensive/offensive skills, from a simple grab to a mass attack situation.
Black Dragon Kempo is a complete martial arts system in the western suburbs of Melbourne.
